What does transforming leadership look like for Pastor Vincent Rife?
Note: What is the impact of the Transforming Center in the lives of leaders? Vincent Rife, Lead Pastor at Grace Christian Church, shares about corporate leadership discernment (from Pursuing God’s Will Together: A Discernment Summit for Leaders) and about his Transforming Community® experience.
I never want to be the singular person by which the people are trusting that God’s voice is coming out of. Corporate leadership discernment with a group of people that have a common commitment takes pressure off the lead pastor to have to get things right all the time. There’s a level of connectedness that the group feels when you’re desiring to hear what God is saying together and committed to moving forward. It’s been deeply enriching to our leadership and overall to our church.
Beyond intellect, creativity, and my own best efforts, my priority (since being a part of a Transforming Community) has been to create the space in my life to open to God and to connect with Him in deeper and more personal ways. It is from this place that I have been able to lead with a greater sense of authenticity and integrity. As God continues to do a transforming work in me, I have noticed it has created a deeper hunger in those I serve to experience God’s presence in their own lives in more personal and profound ways.
The Transforming Community experience taught me that the very best thing I can bring to ministry and the community I serve is my own transforming self.
